LIAT Excited About Acquisition of Additional Aircraft from Caribbean Star

Effective November 15th 2007, the official closing date of Caribbean Star Airlines,  LIAT (1974) Limited assumed the complete flight schedule which was shared under the commercial agreement between the two airlines that commenced on February 1st , 2007.

According to Penny Gomez, Corporate Communications Specialist, “we are excited about what this transition means for LIAT and the improved level of service that we are able offer to our customers. We have recruited staff from Caribbean Star Airlines and we have acquired several of their aircraft, however there are still 3 aircraft outstanding. It is a work in process.” Gomez continued that “In the meanwhile, the delay in the delivery of the final three aircraft has affected our planned scheduled and we have put measure in place to mitigate against any disruptions. LIAT is committed to providing a high level of service to its customers.”

Passengers are advised that change fees and additional fares will be waived for affected persons. Disadvantaged customers on these services and others inconvenienced by this development should request updates from their LIAT agents.

Gomez further stated that “we would like to thank our colleagues at Caribbean Star Airline who have worked with us in the past months to provide a seamless and reliable service to our customers under our commercial agreement”.
